Estimate extra time for travel to Oslo Airport this summer

Due to upgrades to the railway network, Oslo Central Station will be closed to train traffic from 26 June to 8 August. While work is being carried out, travel to and from Oslo Airport will take longer than usual. Passengers should therefore estimate an extra 20 minutes travel time.

The Airport Express Train will be substituted by buses at stations from Drammen to Oslo Central Station. The exception is Nationaltheatret station, which will not be serviced by bus. Passengers from this station may use the metro to Oslo Central Station before boarding buses. You may be requested to present a valid Airport Express Train ticket on the metro.

Tickets may be purchased in the normal manner from the ticket vending machines or by swiping credit cards at the stations.

Buses will be available at Drammen, Sandvika, Lysaker, Skøyen and Oslo Central Station at the scheduled departure times. Buses from Asker leave at 10, 30 and 50 minutes past the hour.

At Lillestrøm station passengers will transfer from buses to the Airport Express Train.

Three bus routes will be in operation:

  • Oslo Central Station – Lillestrøm
  • Sandvika – Lysaker – Skøyen – Lillestrøm
  • Drammen – Asker – Lillestrøm

The Airport Express Train will leave Oslo Airport every 20 minutes to Lillestrøm for transfer to buses.

The Airport Express Train's travel guarantee will apply for the duration of the works period. This guarantee entails that travellers are entitled to refunds for plane tickets if the Airport Express Train is more than half an hour behind schedule and the customer would have arrived at Oslo Airport within the deadlines set by the airlines.

The Airport Express Train's press officer may be contacted on phone no. +47 90 54 91 54.
